Responsibilities

As a Field Technician / IT Facility Coordinator you will coordinate and support a variety of technical projects related to the setup and maintenance of the IT infrastructure for Dayton Freight Lines Service Centers.

  • Exercise discretion to order and track vendor services for Service Center locations, such as telecom circuit orders and cable/infrastructure
  • Travel to service centers to analyze and install/move facility equipment including, but not limited to, network rack equipment, desktop/user equipment, etc.
  • Utilizes independent judgment to provide technical support to end-users via Help Desk and in the field regarding diverse software and hardware systems
  • Maintains proper documentation for all projects/tasks assigned to include inputting applicable records such as network users, security, and tracking inventory levels of equipment and materials
  • Utilizes independent judgement to perform moderately advanced technological systems support, maintenance, and testing for proper upkeep of systems
  • Troubleshoots and resolves moderately complex system hardware, software, and network failures and conflicts
  • Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to technology, equipment, applicable laws, regulations, standards and / or systems
  • Performs in an ethical and professional manner, adhering to all company policies and procedures
  • Assists the Help Desk Supervisor with projects as assigned
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Network+
  • Microsoft Office 365 Associate

  • Ability to deploy and terminate network wiring
  • Ability to provide functional direction to other technical support
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively
  • Ability to self-manage and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to problem-solve using tools provided as well as online resources
  • Use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specifications and/or oral instructions
